The Louis Vuitton Man Fall-Winter 2014 show marks the beginning of a new
era for the emblematic Damier signature.
Since 1889, when it was first released during the Universal Exhibition
of Paris which also seen the unveiling of the Eiffel Tower, the Damier canvas,
created in 1888 by Louis Vuitton and his son Georges, has been an icon of
the House.
In 2014, the Damier reinvents itself once again as a contemporary icon and
becomes Cobalt.
A deep, timeless and modern blue, becoming the discreet signature of
a sophisticated and charismatic man. A dark blue, sign of a new understated
luxury.
For the show, Kim Jones, Louis Vuitton Men’s Style Director, created two exclusive
models.
In Damier Cobalt canvas, Louis Vuitton’s iconic Keepall 45 travel bag
proposed in a twisted version: the backpack carry adds to this timeless and
elegant shape a very trendy touch. The Atoll, versatile travel clutch, is also
exclusively revisited for this show.
These models will both be available exclusively on line starting the
16th of January, and in store starting the 31st.
It is the beginning of new array of Damier Cobalt products built around three
universes: city, travel and small leather goods.
The Damier Cobalt becomes the new essential line of men’s wardrobe.
